Dr. Ross J. Todd
Director, Center for International Scholarship in School Libraries<http://cissl.scils.rutgers.edu/> (CISSL)
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick, USA

This workshop draws on several large research studies undertaken by the Center for International Scholarship in School Libraries at Rutgers University 2003 – 2009 that shed light on our understanding of school libraries and learning, information literacy, and inquiry, as well as the dynamics of instructional collaborations. The workshop will pose and address some critical questions that are at the heart of the future of school libraries: Do we need them? Do they learn anything? What do they learn? Does information literacy instruction make a difference? What are the dynamics of meaningful pedagogy for information literacy in a school environment? And what of the wired world?
